Summer Old Bpys Sports Days
The LCOBA calendar year kicks off with the College vs Old Boys summer sports fixtures in the first two weeks of Term 1. A T20 cricket match was held on 30 January. Despite rain, a 16 over match was completed with Old Boys batting first to reach 117-5 in 16 overs. Notable performances with the bat were: Sam Cassidy with a hard hitting 45no; Lovepreet Padda 27, and Sam Devescovi 10. The 1st XI comfortably ran down the total reaching 118-6 in 13.4 overs for a 4-wicket win. Notable Old Boy bowling performances were: Marcus Sisam 2-5; Harry Cassidy 1-10 and Finn Reid 1-13. Thanks to: recent Old Boys returning to play; Hamish Hay and Charlie Sisam for overseeing proceedings; Rob Hay and Milarn Smith for organising the fixture.
In tennis, the following results were achieved in a first to nine games format: Jono Fall and Jackson Lambert beat Theo King and Ben Boere 9-3; Andrew Shand and Andrew Ellingham beat Freddie Walker and Campbell Ellingham 9-2; Steve Greer and Phil Mitchell beat Otis Hoggard and Wilbur Coates 9-3; Howard Pedersen and Kim Cooper beat Cooper Ellingham and Max Gaddum 9-3. This produced a 4-0 win by a very strong Old Boys' tennis team. Thanks again to Rob Hay and to College Head of Tennis, Mr Greg Fall, for organising and hosting the fixture.
