Dayboys were admitted to Lindisfarne in 1966. The Chronicle states: “we feel this is a step forward on which the Council is to be congratulated… This move should help to identify the life of the College more closely with that of the city of Hastings, and this in itself is most desirable.”
In 1968 the Intermediate School was introduced with nine Form 1 and 2 pupils enrolled. To cater for the Intermediate School, the old Library was converted into a classroom and the library books were moved to the ex Junior Common room. Mr J Izatt was the first Intermediate Master.
