Kai ngā Ika ā-whiro o te kura o Motutapu, tēnā koutou katoa
As we look ahead to the start of a new school year, we warmly invite you to join us in upholding our traditions, strengthening our connections, and supporting our kura in this significant event as we formally welcome our new Rector, new kaiako, and new students for 2026 by way of pōhiri.
The pōhiri will take place on:
Thursday 29 January 2026 at 8:30am on Motutapu.
We anticipate welcoming over 200 manuhiri onto the marae ātea. The proceedings will begin with wero by Te Ōtane Huata, followed by karanga and the haka pōhiri by the kapahaka and ngā tama o mua.
To ensure we are unified in voice and movement, we will be holding a haka pōhiri and waiata tautoko practice for all involved:
Practice:
Wednesday 28 January 2026 at 5:00pm
Location: Lindisfarne College (in front of Campbell Boarding House)
We invite all Old Boys to stand proudly alongside our current students and wider community in performing:
Haka Pōhiri: Hei Runga, Hei Raro and Ūtaina
Waiata Tautoko: Taku Manu Tāiko
This is a special opportunity for tama o mua and tama o nāianei to come together in unity and uphold our shared tikanga as we welcome our new Rector, Craig Hardman, who will be joining us from St Paul’s Collegiate in Hamilton. Following his opening kōrero, the entire kura will perform our school haka.
Your presence and participation will greatly enhance the mana of this occasion and demonstrate the enduring strength of our brotherhood and school community.
Please RSVP by email here, and we will send further reminders and details as we draw closer to the date.
